Founded in 2010 by Melanie Flood, mellie j showroom has become a darling of upmarket boutiques across the US. Melanie's experience includes delivering dynamic integrated campaigns, brand strategy for new market entry, forming strategic partnerships for histrionic events and public affairs in the US & Europe. She has worked across many sectors including fashion, arts, social enterprise, food banks and the environment. She was Director of Communications for The UK Fashion & Textile Association (a trade challenge partner of Department for International Trade) and Director of Communications for Social Enterprise UK - having partnered with the Cabinet Office to spearhead Social Saturday 2015. In 2016, she produced SEUK’s Buy Social film which was played at Downing Street as part of their Buy Social Corporate Challenge. Melanie staged the first ever fashion show in the Palace of Westminster with Graduate Fashion Week and produced UKFT’s 2013 and 2014 NatWest UK Fashion & Textile Awards (UKFT’s president is HRH The Princess Royal). She has worked with emerging and established design talent, as well as major fashion houses including BCBG Max Azria Group, Max Mara Fashion Group, Bestseller & IC Companys – channeling varied resources into tangible results. She served on the Creative Industries Expert Panel for Creative Skillset in London, presented at the Social Enterprise World Forum in Italy and Sustainable Brands in Bangkok, and is a Fellow of the RSA (Royal Society for the encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce). Melanie currently resides in Northern California.
